学校概况：

蒙特利尔佳华学校创建于一九九四年二月，是在加拿大魁北克省政府注册的非盈利教育机构，中国国务院侨办首批授予的“海外华文教育示范学校”之一。学校的办学宗旨是在海外发扬中华文化，教书育人，为培养德、智、体、美全面发展的人才打基础。

佳华学校是加拿大第一个由中国大陆人士创办的中文学校，强调汉语普通话和简体字的教学，根据学生的特点把汉语教学和培养学生祖国情节联系起来，有目的、有针对性地培养学生的中文能力。

2001年开始，佳华招生超过千人，成为加拿大最大的中文学校之一。

日常课程：

佳华中文课程设置全方位，完整贯通，包含幼儿汉语、小学语文、中学语文、中国历史和文学以及从小学到中学，针对母语为非普通话学生开设的特殊汉语和多级别成人汉语。

除了中文课程以外，数学是佳华学校创建时的重点工程，目的是提高和加强华人子女数理化竞争能力。学校开设从小学到高中各年级，直至到高等数学的微积分和线性代数等课程。

佳华学校针对魁北克特定环境特别开设英法语课程，培养华裔青少年多种语言能力。此外，佳华学校还开设各级美术，书法国画，音乐、舞蹈、棋类、武术、太极、瑜珈 ，健身、乒乓等艺术和体育类课程，促进学生德、智、体、美全面发展。

自2000年开始，魁北克省教育部承认佳华学校中文课的学分，为进一步鼓励学生学习中文创造了更好的条件。

夏令营：

佳华学校每年夏天都举办以中文学习为主的文体夏令营，以丰富学生们的暑期生活，并帮助他们巩固已经学到的知识。

从2002年开始，佳华参加中国侨办组办的“华裔青少年寻根之旅”夏令营，足迹遍布祖国大江南北。至今，年年组织这一有意义的活动，为学生们开阔视野，加深对祖国文化历史的了解提供了宝贵难得的机会。

师资队伍：

佳华学校重视师资队伍的建设，力求保证教师队伍的质量，聘用有专业学位、有教学经验的人士担任各科教师。除英法文以外，各科教师全部来自中国。全校有40多名教师被国侨办评为“优秀海外华文教师/海外华文教育工作杰出人士”光荣称号。

学校有计划地选派教师回国参加国内组办的教育大会，研讨会及培训，至今已有50多名教师回国参加过有关活动。

各类活动：

建校以来，佳华学校多次接待中国派来的专家学者代表团、讲学团，并多次组织举办全市华文教师培训班。

2007年开始，佳华学校作为海外承办单位之一，在蒙特利尔连续多年组织“中华文化知识大赛”。本校参赛学生达1,500名以上，获 优秀者不尽其数。

佳华学校还积极组织学生每年参加中国国庆、中国文化节、文化日等文化活动。

2011年，佳华学校被授予上海市”海外推广中心“的称号，为加强和进一步推广中国文化做工作。

建校以来，佳华教学水平逐步得到社会广泛承认。佳华学生在国内外各类比赛中多次得奖，除了每年举办的 《佳华学校朗诵比赛/写字比赛》和《“佳华杯”作文比赛》以外，还连续参加中国举办的《华人少年作文比赛》和《鲁迅青少年文学奖》比赛，年年获得好成绩，大大地鼓励和吸引华裔青少年学习中文。

佳华学生参加的加拿大全国数学竞赛、围棋公开赛、国际象棋比赛等，均获大奖 。

1995年建校不久，佳华就参与了在中国的 “希望小学”组建活动。其后，继续组织学生参与公益事业，如为加拿大青少年糖尿病基金会组织捐款等。在祖国出现灾情时，佳华师生更是迅速及时地慷慨捐款支持受灾地区重建家园。

自1996年起，佳华学校即出版不定期校刊《百花园》，主要刊登学校重要新闻，师生作品，心得体会等。经过精心编辑的《百花园》内容多，质量高，广受欢迎。

近年，作为“海外华文教育示范学校”，佳华多次组织全市华文教师接受上海市远程教育集团的教师培训，还召开了首次“蒙特利尔华文教育研讨会”。为了提高教学质量，佳华教师不断总结经验，积极开展教研活动。佳华教师的多篇研究文章不仅刊登在校刊和网站上，而且还经常在《世界华文教育》、《华文教育通讯》等华文教育专业杂志和报刊上发表。

Jia Hua School of Montreal, which was founded in February, 1994, is a Chinese community weekend school, duly registered as a non-profit organization and was designated by the Chinese highest authority concerned as a model school for teaching Chinese, one of the only five in Canada. Operating on Saturdays only, the school carries a mission to promote the interest, the knowledge and the understanding of Chinese culture, to strengthen academic learning, and to help students build a solid foundation to develop themselves in an all-around way, morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically. Although the goal of the school when it was firstly established is to serve the Chinese community, teaching younger generation Chinese language skills, it is open to the whole society, welcoming anyone who or whose children may be interested in learning Chinese as well as Chinese culture and arts. Jia Hua School offers a whole range of Chinese courses for all age groups, as young as 5 years old up to senior level. The school operates “Two Tier” Chinese teaching systems, one for Mandarin Chinese speaking children, the other one for those who don’t speak Mandarin Chinese at home, not including 5 levels of Chinese learning for adults. Over the years, Jia Hua School of Montreal has developed from a tiny operation of just a few classes into one of the largest Chinese schools in North America with more than 1000 students and 100 teachers and staff. Situated at the beautiful campus of Dawson College downtown Montreal, Jia Hua School is not only conveniently located, but also enjoys tremendous reputation as the best place among community schools to learn Mandarin Chinese and other related subjects. We believe our success is wholly due to the dedication of our teaching staff, the support of the parents and the Chinese community as well as effective management of our school administrative team.

Fondée en février 1994, l’école Jia Hua de Montréal est un organisme d’enseignement de la communauté chinoise, à but non lucratif, dont les classes sont ouvertes le samedi au profit de toutes les communautés. L’école a pour mission d’éveiller l’intérêt pour la culture chinoise, d’en favoriser la compréhension ainsi que d’enrichir les connaissances des élèves en les aidant à se développer aux plans moral, intellectuel, physique et esthétique. Au moment de sa fondation, l’école Jia Hua n’enseignait le mandarin qu’aux enfants des familles d’origine chinoise mais, depuis maintenant quelques années, elle offre l’enseignement à tous les jeunes qui sont intéressés à apprendre le mandarin ainsi qu’à connaître la culture et les arts de la Chine. Avec plus de 1 000 élèves et un personnel d’une centaine de personnes, l’école Jiahua est une des plus grande d’Amérique du Nord. Située au centre de la ville de Montréal, logée dans le prestigieux campus du collège Dawson, l’école est réputée être le meilleur endroit pour apprendre le mandarin et suivre des cours de culture chinoise. Ce succès est dû à l’engagement enseignants, à l’appui des parents et à celui de la communauté chinoise ainsi qu’à l’équipe d’administration.
