Although Jia Hua is a Chinese Community school, created with the mandate to teach Mandarin and Chinese culture to the local Chinese population, the school is fully aware of the need of the whole society and has designed and formulated courses with special consideration and care.
Jia Hua offers “Special Chinese” courses for those whose mother tongue is not Chinese or those don’t speak Mandarin at home. These courses are run in parallel with our “Regular Chinese”, and are taught with the help of English/ French/Cantonese. Parents may pay special attention to those courses starting with letter code “T” along with the “Regular Chinese” courses with letter code “Y”.
Chinese heritage and culture are an integral part of Jia Hua’s whole courses line-up. Culture and art classes include Chinese Painting, Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Traditional Dancing, Go Chess, Martial Arts and Tai Chi etc. and look for courses with letter code “Z”.
The school also teaches mathematics from elementary to high school, all the way up to pre-university level. However, these courses are taught in Chinese only.
English courses are a part of the curriculum too, with letter code “E”.
